Revolution is in the air in Le Nozze di Figaro as Lyric Opera Studio Weimar proudly presents Mozart’s masterpiece of revenge, lust and laughter. Rich with subversive wit that highlights the domestic struggle against the class struggle, Mozart and da Ponte perfectly capture the tight divide between bitter and sweet, tragedy and comedy.

Widely regarded as the greatest comic opera ever written, Le Nozze di Figaro whisks us through the whirlwind events of ‘one crazy day’  (to borrow Beaumarchais’ title for his original play) as Figaro, Count Almaviva’s valet, attempts to wed his beloved Susanna, the Countess’ maid, before the philandering Count can bed her first….
